Mahjong Mondays

Mahjong Mondays at NEBCO Branford With interest in the game growing fast, we’re turning Monday nights into a standing spot for Mahjong players to gather, play, and connect. Whether you’re an experienced player or still getting the hang of it, these weekly pick-up game nights are all about low-pressure fun, meeting new people, and settling into a new Monday routine at the brewery.

Every Monday, guests are invited to jump into open games with others who already know how to play or are actively learning. Think casual tables, friendly faces, and plenty of time to play a few rounds while enjoying your favorite NEBCO beers. No tournament format, no commitments. Just show up and play!

Tables in the taproom will be reserved for Mahjong players. Please note, there is no formal structure to these weekly pick-up games. Come, play and meet new people.

For anyone who’s curious about Mahjong but doesn’t yet know how it works, we’ll also be offering structured Mahjong classes every month. These classes are designed to give beginners the confidence to join future Mahjong Mondays with ease.

Mahjong Classes

Classes will be taught by local Mahjong expert Esther of Mahjong Haven and will focus on the traditional Hong Kong Style Mahjong version of the game, which is widely considered one of the most approachable formats for beginners.

• $18 per person per class OR $65 per person for 4 classes 

• 2–2.5 hour guided class | Classes begin promptly at 6:30pm, check in starts at 6pm in The Loft

• All Mahjong sets provided

• Ideal for beginners or those looking to refresh their skills
